Job Description
Duties:
- Providing day to day application development, maintenance and support functions
- Interacting with various stakeholders (Business Team, Application Support Team, DBAs, other development teams) to collect and understand client and technical requirements, recommend, influence and document strategic decisions
- Estimating costs and timelines for the implementation of proposed solutions
- Developing, documenting, programming, testing and implementing technical solutions to meet business requirements
- Conducting preventative maintenance, which includes changes to the applications that would improve system performance or application usability
- Providing support to Business Owners for user acceptance testing
- Providing input to the creation of new policies and procedures
- Collaborating with other teams within Technology Services to investigate and ensure implementation of effective system solutions
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years related experience in system development OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in system development
- Demonstrated recent experience with Java development, jboss, SQL server, SQL server procedures and SQL functions is required.
- Experience with support of Web Development toolsets such as Visual Studio.Net 2012 or higher, utilizing one or more of ASP.Net, VB.Net or C#.Net
- Experience with XML and HTML
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013
- Experience with javascript libraries such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Node.js”
- Experience with CRXDE Lite
- Experience in development with server-based reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal Reports
- Experience with Apache Tomcat
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, Linux Redheat and JBoss
- Experience with software development methodologies
- Experience with training in business analysis and system requirements development
- Written and spoken competence in French
